East London has been an engineering powerhouse for hundreds of years, home to everything from the first tunnel under a river to today's leading software companies. Bi-monthly IET talks will cover the most exciting developments, starting with the starting with the secrets of the underground railway network operated by Royal Mail between Whitechapel and Paddington.  To illustrate how topical that is: the Time Out published the attached days after the event was posted on the website. Coincidence??

The series of talks will cover modern developments important to the region, such as major new infrastructure projects and software engineering advancements, as well as the important milestones from East London's past like the launch of the first iron steam ship. The East London network chairman said "the IET is increasing it's focus on East London because it's such a centre of innovation in London, and we want to connect the traditional and the new so that we can learn from each other."

It takes 15 minutes to travel to Queen Mary University from Bank Station by train. If you can, please attend this festive event.

Kind regards,

Davy
