Technical Report Writing



This highly practical two-day course analyses report preparation from the earliest stages of identifying the reader and the objectives to the effective presentation of the complete document. Delegates are asked to bring a sample of a report of technical document they have written and have the opportunity to discuss these individually with the tutor.



Delegates have the opportunity to analyse technical writing in terms of style and grammar and to assess their own and their company’s policy for the revision and checking of documents before they are issued. Methods of structuring report material, including summary writing are suggested and practiced, and there is an opportunity to put ideas into practice.



Specification Writing



Whether you have never written a specification before, or just want to improve your specification writing skills, this one-day course covers the end-to-end process stages from planning, preparing and drafting the specification through to review and issue control.  The course includes practical tips on the best methodologies to apply to ensure an effective specification, which is the key to successful project delivery.



Introduction to Bidding and Tendering



Whether you are new to the project process, or want to discover practical suggestions on how you can improve your existing skills, this course will help you to gain an appreciation of the key issues to be considered at each stage of bidding and tendering process.  It will also help you to recognise the strengths you and your organisation can bring to meet the specific needs of potential customers and optimise resource on targeted requirements.



You will be able to identify and develop a consistent and coherent approach to proposal writing, as well as gaining an understanding of the terminology, technical and procedural issues pertaining to the initial stages of an acquisition programme and develop commercial awareness relating to establishing genuine opportunities that bring real utility to the company.
