This years Yorkshire region prestige lecture is about the world's first 2-D material, graphene.


Graphene has been heralded by many as this century’s wonder-material. It has already begun to revolutionise the electronics industry, with uses in optical electronics, energy storage and PV cells. Current research is investigating uses such as a biomedical filters in medicine or for use in composite materials.


This is a free public lecture which is staged annually to inform the general public and interested professionals of developments that are likely to affect them in the future.


Also attending will be Naomi Climer, President of the IET.


Light refreshments will be served from 6:30pm with the lecture starting at 7:00pm
