“This is one of a very practical and effective manner of picking up presentation skill, on-the-spot practice after sharing by trained coaches in communication. I will join PATW NTU competition together with my friends as we are very keen to beef up our presentation skills before graduation”, said Mr. Tan, an undergraduate in his final year of study at Nanyang Technological University in Sinagpore. 



Tips for effective presentation:

1. Content and Organization

a. Have a coherent structure

b. Keep the content simple

c. Give outlines
2. Engagement and Delivery

a. Pause before and after important points

b. Slow down to emphasize key points

c. Get organized and practice well to avoid anxiety
3. Verbal Cues

a. Use appropriate language

b. Be confident and enthusiastic

c. Use cohesive language
4. Non-verbal Cues

a. Look at the audience and be expressive

b. Face the audience as much as possible

c. Maintain proper posture

d. Use natural gestures


The workshop was led by a group of coaches from Language Communication Cube (LCC) in NTU.  Another training workshop will be held on 8 March.
