1. Background
IET- USM OnCampus was established on 18/July/2017. It was formed by a group of students from School of Mechanical Engineering, USM who joined the IET.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was established in 1969 as the second university in the country. USM offers a wide range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to 30,000 students. There are 2 semesters in a year for USM students. Usually January to February will be the short semester break while July to September will be the long semester break and industry placement period.
Nibong Tebal is a suburb of the city of Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. Located at the northern bank of the Kerian River in South Seberang Perai District, it is the southernmost populated place of Penang. Nibong Tebal contained a population of 2,045 as of 2010. The nearest airport to USM is Penang International Airport. Penang International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Malaysia. The airport is located near Bayan Lepas at the south eastern tip of Penang Island, 16 km (9.9 mi) south of the city centre. Previously known as the Bayan Lepas International Airport, it was opened in 1935, making it the oldest airport in the country.
