We are beyond thrilled to be the first local network (LN) in the world to kick-start the 2017/18 series of IET flagship event, Present Around The World! The competition is organised by our capable Leadership Program candidates (Mitch, Nathan, Justin, Allison, Min, and Ella) led by their mentor, Allaine Lopez. The event was a successful one, attended by students from all four universities in Western Australia, industry reps and of course our 6 highly capable presenters. We have also lived streamed all six presentations through our Facebook page.

This year, The University of Western Australia (UWA) students shone brightly in the competition. Brooke Krajancich (right) took home the grand prize of CHAMPION for PATW Western Australia Final AND People's Choice Award. Brooke is a current 4th year Bachelor of Philosophy students, majoring in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. Brooke is currently supervised by Dr. Brendan Kennedy at the Harry Perkin's Institute working on breast cancer research. Brooke will be representing our state in the Australia Final taking place in Sydney next year. You can watch Brooke's award-winning presentation here.

The first runner-up is Xiong Xiao (left). Xiong is a 1st year Ph.D. candidate, majoring in Oil and Gas Engineering. Xiong is currently supervised by Prof Eric May at the Fluid Science Resources division at UWA, studying enhanced oil recovery. You can watch Xiong's presentation through this link.

Once again, congratulations to both winners and congratulations to Allaine's team for their outstanding effort and contribution to make the event a huge success. Last but not least, best of luck to Brooke in the Australia Final next April!
