The IET Radar, Sonar and Navigation Network are appealing to professionals with an interest in this area to join the executive team and represent the technical community.

As a registrant to this network, we would like to invite you to apply for this opportunity, to join the executive team you do need to be a member of the IET.



What is the role of the network?

This network provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and information and networking within the area of radar, sonar and navigation. This is done through a number of physical and online activities, which allow you to:

  • Learn about and extend your existing knowledge of the topic

  • Network with like-minded individuals

  • Receive information via the web

  • Share knowledge and experience with others




What is expected of an executive team member?

Executive team members act as ambassadors for the network and wider community. As part of a dynamic and focused group, the team regularly participates in various activities, such as:

  • Engaging in physical and virtual executive team meetings

  • Development of the networks annual strategy

  • Using your professional network of contacts to arrange one or more activities, to engage with engineering and technology professionals

  • Contributing content via MyCommunity, the IET’s professional networking and collaboration platform and the new online home for networks


We welcome applications from members to join our executive team. All international volunteers can dial-in to participate in our executive team meetings, as we are unable to reimburse travel expenses.
