Network Finance Manager (Treasurer) – A  Reflective

I have now held the position of Finance Manager for the Mersey and Western Cheshire Network since September 2012.  In that time it has given me great deal of satisfaction to have been involved, on behalf of the Network committee, with the preparation of three successive budget proposals and the subsequent accounting for and the authorisation of expenditure against those budgets.  During this period I have found it a privilege and a gratifying experience to have been working with a committee composed of a group of experienced professional and young engineers.  The committee has made my time in post a much easier task than expected and a thoroughly satisfying and knowledge enhancing experience.

I have found that volunteering as the Finance Manger has been a good way to develop new skills and gain experience.  It has also been a great way to network and to give something back.  It is now time to hand over the baton to a fresh mind.

If after reading this blog you’d like to speak to someone to discuss the role in more detail then please contact Deborah-Claire McKenzie, Community Relationship Manager for the Mersey & Western Cheshire Network.
