The local SY Joint PEI committee agreed to hold a special event on the 27th June 2019 to recognise and celebrate the centenary of the Women's Engineering Society (WES)

The venue chosen for this event was the Cutlers Hall located in the center of Sheffield.

To celebrate this event, the committee sought to find a series of high profile women who could deliver key note presentations and support a Networking session in the second session of the event.

Samantha Hubbard BEng (Hon) IEng MIET from the IET was selected as host for the event  with guest speakers; Dr Kirsty Clode chair of the WiME; Dr Carolyn Griffiths CEng FIMechE FREng & Pam Liversidge OBE DL FReng. Sam Hubbard gave a lively & interesting overview of her personal background & career to date.

She then introduced each guest speaker who gave a 20 minute presentation about their respective backgrounds from a personal standpoint and a specific & detailed overview of their illustrious careers todate.

The 180 attendees at the event were a wide range of women already in industry and many studying for degrees in Engineering across the two Universities in Sheffield.

There were a total of 68 photographs taken at the event & if anyone reading this blog would like the full set, please email me and I'll send you a link to access them.
