Join us as an Academic Accreditor for the IET and play a pivotal role in ensuring the industry input and influence on the curriculum and student learning experience is of high quality and is effective within engineering and technology degree programmes worldwide.
As an Academic Accreditor, you will review and evaluate university programmes against IET accreditation standards. Working collaboratively with other accreditors, you will use agreed criteria to identify high-quality courses that align with professional registration requirements and provide constructive recommendations for improvement where necessary.
What can I bring to the role:
- Experience in industry with knowledge of engineering or technology programmes
- Familiarity with UK-SPEC and professional registration requirements
- Understanding of quality assurance processes
- Professional registration (Fellowship is strongly preferred)

We are currently pausing recruitment for Academic Accreditors with an academic background until June 2026. However, we are still actively seeking industrialist Academic Accreditors to support our accreditation activities. If you have significant industry experience and are interested in contributing to Academic Accreditation, we would love to hear from you!
This role requires a minimum of five days per year, including preparation, attending accreditation visits (typically two days each) and report writing. Travel within the UK and internationally may be required and all expenses are covered.
