Have you ever thought about volunteering and do you have some spare time to give? Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Volunteering is a fantastic way to enhance your professional development with the IET.

By volunteering for your local network you can gain experience in areas such as event planning and marketing, and also build on other skills such as liaising with speakers and gaining business contacts.

The Teddington committee are currently looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to help with their marketing and the creation and running of their events.

Volunteers will be required to attend the monthly meetings and occasional committee meetings. Other responsibilities will include the creation and running of regular events held on the first Wednesday of every month (except holiday periods), at the Adelaide pub in Teddington near the station, 7:15pm – 9pm.

What is the role of the Local Network?

The Local Network provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and information and networking within engineering topics. This is done through a number of activities which allow you to:

  • network with like-minded individuals in your local area

  • receive information via the web

  • share knowledge and experience with others

  • find out more about all the opportunities that the IET can bring such as Professional Registration

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Teddington Committee, please contact Cathryn Walton.
