On Saturday 10th January 2015, a Young Professional Section (YPS) was formed under the guidance of the Trinidad and Tobago Local Network executives, with Faheema Baksh, being elected amongst her peers as the current Chair of the YPS Executive.



The event commenced with introductions from members of the LN executive, David Drakes and Sean Ocho, each of whom provided an overview about the IET, the LN's functions and goals and an introduction to the Young Professionals network and their key events, the PATW and the Global Challenge.

The members of the NESC Drilling Academy were impressed with the experience, tact and accomplishments of Faheema Baksh, as she elaborated on the specifics of the Present around the World Competition and her journey from winning the local network final in Trinidad to her success in the Americas Regional Finals and the benefits derived from competing at the global finals in London.

Colin Chase provided the newly formed YPS with an overview of their responsibilities and key objectives regarding the PATW and Global Challenge and it was clear that the young professionals would have the continued guidance and support as they begin their journey as a network.
