The South Yorkshire Local Network (SYLN) is looking for new members to join and support the group of volunteers on the main committee. Can you help? The committee meets every 6 weeks at venues in the Sheffield region to review its planned activities throughout the year. We are looking for new volunteers with fresh ideas, who are enthusiastic and willing to engage and promote the profession across a wide section of the public.

We're also looking for help to engage with youngsters on STEM related activities to engage and inspire the next generation of engineers, and to change the image of the profession across a wide range of the public who to often see engineering as people  in overalls, hard hats with spanners and not the highly regarded and skilled profession it really is.

We understand that work will always take priority and your social and family life is very important, however, volunteering is role that can give you a great deal of satisfaction and opportunities to network with other professionals.

If you are interested in joining the volunteer team for the IET South Yorkshire committee please either let me know or contact our Hon Secretary Brian Heathcote for more details.

We can be contacted if you log into the IET SYLN online community which has more details and contact information.
