Career Manager Connection Troubles

Hello fellow professionals,

Am I the only one?

For the last 6 months or so I've found it very hard to connect to Career Manager. I live overseas (Singapore), have tried various networks (my employer's, cellular and home networks), incognito browsers - all work every now and then but usually fail, so I am convinced it is a server-side issue. Unfortunately IET's tech support seems to keep telling me to try different things rather than acknowledge any problems.

URL: career-manager.theiet.org/

Symptoms: I first get to the single sign-on page, then career manager stars to load but never succeeds. If I click refresh then it goes to a 404 error as if nothing existed.

Frustrating as I'm trying to log my CPD hours in a platform that used to work rather well.

regards,

Chris

  • Hello Chris,
Thank you for highlighting the issue that you are having connecting to Career Manager. We have over 10,000 unique users logging into Career Manager every month from across the world, but we are aware that some users have reported an issue with connecting to the platform, particularly in the Far East region.

Our technical teams are actively investigating why this might be happening, but to date they have found nothing that would indicate a reason for the issue.

Some users have found that using a VPN to the UK has worked around the issue, whilst another contacted their network provider who have found an issue with their settings. We continue to look into this as a priority.
