    Hello Everyone,

I'm Jack Warner, currently want to study more about the electrical engineering. I love to share news and stay updated with current trends in the electronic and automation industry.

I have some questions to ask but not for now.

Other interests: walking, listen to hip-hop songs, watching movies,  Electronic Devices, Electromagnetic Materials, connected IoT devices, Hangout with friends
  • Welcome to the community Jack Warner‍ - looking forward to seeing the questions you have for our community members -  why not head over now to the discussions area and start asking! smiley
  • Hello and welcome to the community Andrew Ng.

Technically I am now one of the newest members myself, since I unintentionally managed to unsubscribe earlier today (having originally joined in 2012) and have now re-joined! So here I will take the chance to (re)introduce myself. One of my IET volunteering roles is to
chair this network's executive committee. We organise a number of control and automation events each year, including workshops and technical talks. At the moment these are mainly held in the UK but are also sometimes organised with the Local Networks in other parts of the world. Everyone is  very welcome to help us out by proposing event ideas and possible speakers. We have a thread What should the C&A network be doing? that (very) occasionally wakes up.

In my day job, I am a professor of control engineering at Lancaster University in the UK, with research interests in robotics and autonomous systems, and control in health and medicine, among other areas.

    Best wishes, James Taylor

  • A warm welcome to  the community, Geev and Andrew smiley
  • Hi Cerianne Whitehead‍ and welcome to the Community - feel free to start a discussion - or indeed if you were interested in producing a blog posting on the work you are doing, do get in touch direct with me
  • Hi All,

My name is Natalie and i'm currently an instrumentation, control and automation apprentice. I've joined recently as i want to progress my career to CEng eventually. Any help with this in the future would be a great help along with keeping up to date with new technologies and proposals for how to make the process of water production and waste water more robust, including improving the quality of drinking water. I'm based in Leeds but i am willing to travel for events to increase my knowledge, plus i have spent time doing STEM events with my company and speaking with young people at careers events in Yorkshire.

As you may have guessed, i've come in to the apprenticeship game quite late on and i already have a BSc in Forensic Anthropology so for many parents of children dealing with the dilemma of University/Apprenticeships i can help with the pros and cons of both!

    Many thanks

    Natalie
  • A very warm welcome to the community, Natalie. You might like to start a discussion on the University/Apprenticeships dilemma, or any other matter of course!

  • Welcome to this space.  We are a friendly lot and there are loads of people here much better placed than I to give advice on waste water treatment.

For CEng pathways, there is lots of helpful guidance published and advisers available when you get to that stage to give you individual support.
