Elderly drivers could stay on road longer using simple in-car tech

Interesting article on E&T today about keeping older drivers on the road for longer by using driver assist technologies.

Excellent idea I think as it would help our older citizens to retain a greater amount of independence. However, I'm also of the personal opinion that drivers should be re-tested every 10 years as a matter of course, to weed out those bad habits we all fall into.

Excellent Idea - if it could disable the vehicles until say 09.30 and before 16.30 Monday to Friday to keep them out of the way of everyone else, that would be grand.

If it could also be extended to supermarkets generally and have an additional lunchtime slot for sandwich bars specifically, that would be even better.
