FORUM MEMBERS FAVORITE BISCUIT

Lisa Miles has suggested I should start this thread so this is it. So you have to state your preference and your technical reasoning.

For me it has to be a fig roll. My reasons are.

1. They are very tasty and nourishing.

2. They contain a high level of fruit so healthy eating as part of your 5 a day.

3. They have a very high structural integrity resilience post tea dipping.

4. They have a high level of crumb retention for munching over a key board.

... Jaffa cakes too although I'm not sure if they are a biccy or a cake

Definitely a biscuit - according to the law. ?

McVities won at a VAT tribunal over that one.  They are cakes, not biscuits, so there's no VAT on them.  See https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/vat-food/vfood6260

    I stand corrected. Relaxed

It feels and tastes like a stale cake mix. or perhaps more like a 'ladies finger' - knowledge courtesy of my partner

    Okra? ?

But if you are offering me a Cadbury's finger biscuit, yes please! ?

It may be surprising or worrying, either way the last packet of biscuits from Christmas have been opened.
    Dipped Christmas Pudding cookies. ??

It's a trick question! The correct answer is American biscuits, ie buttermilk scones but without sugar.

The devil is in the detail, check the topic's spelling!!!!!

When one of the posters mentioned perhaps someone should 3D print a biscuit it got me thinking, perhaps in these troublesome and uncertain times it may be time for all of us to be creative and preserve the future, the general statement "when we return to normal" is somewhat questionable as our powerful leaders are dismissing democracy, controlling the economy and seeking greater power which might be difficult for them to relinquish at a later date, could the new 'normal' be a Orwellian or even Dystopian world?

So when you are sitting down in your gated community with your allocated rations and entertaining your future grandchildren you can mention that the factory down the road that now makes weapons or even medical equipment for the elite used to be a biscuit factory, it is obvious that junior will say, "Grandad what is a biscuit?" and you can say before the world went to pot I printed one and they were delicious when dunked in a hot beverage like tea, here is what they looked like.

Brilliiant. I love it. Just goes to show engineers can do clever things if the bean counters and beaurcrats don't get in the way!

I think I would prefer to use the services of a cook with a bag of flour rather than a engineer with a spool of filament when procuring biscuits as looks can be deceiving. ?

That's almost a denial of future technilogical progress. Goodness knows how the crew of the USS Enterprize would have faired without their softeware generated 3D printed biccies

    Legh
  • Chocolate hobnobs  cis there the best ?????
  • Fave biccy? Dark chocolate homewheat as they used to be called, now called 'digestive' for some reason.

Nothing else comes close for me.
