Who can guess the purpose of the 2 wire OHL on the far left?

  • The answer is in these 4 wire pylons.

    For historic reasons germanic land railways use 15 kV single phase at 16 2/3 Hz and have their own power stations and grid. The first picture was a single phase, probably 25kV line going to a mast mounted transformer somewhere.


    The picture above is part of the SBB 132kV grid.
