  • That's until we all have to charge our cars and vans at night: really don't know how that's gonna work!

    Hopefully by then we'll have a combination of a little more generating capacity (not a huge amount, since we very rarely run what we already have at 100%) and a lot more cleverness in the timing of use of electricity - e.g. your EV will talk to the smart meter's home network to figure out the cheapest time (i.e. when there the most spare generating capacity) to charge your EV to the amount you require by the time you'll require it.
