This is a few months old but i've just read about Swindon’s £10m university technical college, which would be for 14 to 19-year-oldswho would access high-quality education and training, supported by a range of partners including local companies.

What a great initiative, has anyone been involved?

  • I just want to echo Mubbisher's comments with regards to our Committee's continued active engagement during the ongoing establishment of the Swindon UTC (noting their website has had a recent overhaul). For instance, through this involvement we were invited and then attended the recent social event midway through the prospective Principal candidates interview selection two day assessment process. This provided a great opportunity to highlight the work of the IET to the candidates and also the current supporters of the Swindon UTC. Going forward, we aim to further build our relationship with the Swindon UTC on a local level and also to explore further opportunities for extending that to include the IET as a whole. We’ve already initiated such discussions within the IET, but further suggestions and ideas for collaboration are welcome.
