Data protection info

Hello,

I've just gone hunting for info on data protection guidelines for volunteers. It seems like this page is defunct, and should probably be removed completely (the links don't work):
http://www.theiet.org/volunteers/resources/policies/data-protection.cfm

I found this page instead, which seems to be current:
http://www.theiet.org/volunteers/active/how-iet-works/data-protection.cfm

Just a heads up for anyone else looking for this information.

  • Hi Manish - thanks for letting us know about the problem regarding the Data Protection content.

This is a known issue - it appears to be a glitch in our Content Management System which results in certain items of content not archiving correctly. This page was archived back in 2014 but for some reason it is still showing up even though the PDF files are no longer available. It is something that our IT Team are aware of and are looking in to.

The second link (www.theiet.org/.../data-protection.cfm) is the most up-to-date content and it's this page that we will continue to update.

For future reference, you can find most of our generic resources for volunteers via the 'You as a volunteer' page http://www.theiet.org/volunteers/active/talent-support/index.cfm

Thanks again for flagging this to us and please let us know if you spot anything else. yes
