  • Very sad. Not too far from me either. Reading between the journalistic technical nonsense it sounds a like light fitting intended for SELV use has two parts of the exposed frame used as live conductors - the mystery "conversion" to mains voltage was far from "competent" IMO.


    If the shock was indeed direct L-N then I doubt the RCD, even if it had been full working, would have offered any protection.
