I have a customer who wishes to remove the redundant storage heater points and plaster over. The house has recently had a new CU (not by me) and and gas central heating and the now redundant storage heating cables are left gently blowing in the wind in a cupboard. Wrapped in duct tape. Nice. Instinctively I do not like leaving redundant cables lying about and I certainly don't like finding them. However, as I will be able to identify both ends of said cables what is the general view to cutting them off in the cupboard and plastering in the old storage heater points?
I don't see it's going to be practical to completely remove them - so chopped off and plastered over at both ends (or otherwise make obviously unused) seems reasonable.
