Question about BS EN 12101-6:2005, art. 11.6.3

The article 11.6.3 in BS EN 12101-6:2005 states the requirements for electrical cables used in pressure differential systems:

    a) fire-resisting cables meeting the temperature and time criteria in accordance with Table 7 or

    b) enclosed with fire-resisting construction, or installed external to the building where the cables cannot be endangered by fire, and

    c) cables protected from fire shall comply with the classification temperature/time of the component that they serve.

I'm reading again and again and I'm still not sure if the conditions should be met as follows:

    1. ( a or b ) and c

    2. a or ( b and c )

Please help.

  • It seems that everyone is coming up with a different interpretation. The only solution seems to be to ask the people who wrote it. The BSI committee involved is FSH/25 so an email to them may provide an answer (if you can find out who to contact) and if they are unable to answer they can pass it to the parent international committee which seems to be CEN TC191/SC1.
