  • Interesting but not unusual!

Most likely designed back in the day when everything did not have to be idiot-proof, simply because unlike today, an idiot would not have been allowed anywhere near such equipment.

Back at a place where I used to work, we were classed as a 'generator' and had our own private 1 MW supply from 11KV downwards. I remember our 1940-vintage substation looking somewhat similar.

The place was built as a shadow factory at the beginning of WW2 and it was full of interesting yet potentially lethal gear like that.

    Thanks for the memory!
