One hopes that the Daily Mail is being its usual accurate self, and really this is something like an electric fence exciter with short duration high voltage pulses, to cause pain and perhaps invoulantary spasms in the  intruder,  rather than kill them.

Either way, and whilst this may be tempting, I can see the "wrong" person getting prosecuted more severely!

From experience I would say so long as it is parked off the road on his own property there is nothing that the authorities will do about it.

HSE said nothing to do with us it’s a cafe, so the local council are responsible for H&S enforcement.


The council said we don’t think it is illegal, the political said they would just go with the councils decision.


I am still unsure what would have happened it someone working on the street lighting had received a shock then fell off the ladder they were using.

A couple of weeks ago I did a job in a farm out the back of beyond.


The lady said their neighbour had had trouble, someone was nicking diesel from their tank, so they left a five gallon container part filled with diesel and water next to the tank, which soon disappeared.


A couple of days later, whilst they were out, someone put a pick axe through the base of the tank and scrawled the message “If you ever do anything like that again we will burn your farm down” across it.


You do need to consider how who you are winding up as well as how.
