Smart switch alexa is does it count

So looking through regs items need to be switched to be controlled. So does an Alexa for type switch count. If you run a normal switch then add Alexa bulb say at some point someone will turn off the switch and the item will over time deprogramme. Therefore you could short back of switch giving constant power and solving problem but is that within the regs?
I have livened this sort up with a pair of compasses (using my handkerchief as basic insulation) when the holder had been removed to disable something.
I was at school at the time, and we wanted to get the 5A socket on to power a 2kw heater in the maths class.
It maybe that most of modern youth are less gung-ho than we were , but I'm not sure that all are.

Crikey Mike, it's a wonder that you survived school - we already know about the theatre electrics. Did you distill hooch (possibly only a rap on the knuckles nowadays) or make explosives (lock up and throw away the key in 2019!)?
