Visit from DNO when changing CU on a Sunday morning........

Honestly not me, but a friend did a CU change and cut the seals to remove the cut-out fuse at around 09:00 and within the hour, a DNO van and man turns up at the address.

He wanted to know what was going on and my friend, the charmer he is, ended up promising to follow the man's advice to get a DP isolator fitted before doing his next CU change and that was all.

Fortunately the home owner wasn't there to witness the goings on.

Oh, and as you have already worked out, it was a Smart meter........

To their procedures as an NICEIC contractor, I am authorised by SSE to cut seals and apply signed stickers, this also applies to NAPIT and other registered bodies. This post probably doesn't apply to them since they won't know who the offender is. How many DNO's would this incident apply to?, there is a need to check with the owner for their supplier now! Big brother is watching you.

From conversations in here, if you use those stickers, you are unusual.

What is even more unusual is SSE's (very reasonable) policy.
