Supporting overhead CAT6 SWA

Would CAT6 SWA cable require any additional support if used for say a 5 metre overhead span?

I have seen what looks like either split-con or concentric cable used overhead without no obvious support wire.

If suitable, what are the best options to support the two ends.

Thanks.

  • Clive,

An overhead span of five metres without intermediate support would sound reasonable, given that the SWA should take the load in similar manner to the steel support strands in CW1411 and is mechanically more substantial.

What sort of diameter is CAT6 SWA over the sheath?

I might have a few BT Clamp Dropwire 10A hiding somewhere that you can have, but being designed for CW1411 2-pair dropwire, they only properly clamp cables up to about 6 mm diameter.
