Kitchen referb,rewire,heat detector?

As above,I was wondering if a mains/battery heat detector was compulsory in this situation.

I was going to recommend one to the client.Other detectors in the house are just battery powered,not linked.

The site is in west yorkshire.

    Yes,a kitchen door.Have never had a problem with false alarms with heat detectors in kitchens, only smokes outside the kitchen door  .Regards, hz
