Part P update refresher request

Hi All


I'm having an extension built on my house and the work has stopped and so has my job.  The logical thing is make wiring the extension into my new job.  I haven't done any domestic wiring work for about 4 years and so I've lost track of the state of the Part P fiasco. Can someone fill me in on what the current state is.  I am no longer on the competant persons register, so I want to go down the planning application route.  Last time I did that it was only 360 for the job.   Also I have 17th edition and not 18th.  What chaged and is it worth getting the 18th?

    If you get it all done sharpish, BC will be so worried about social distancing that they won't want to send anybody round.


    As an aside, the plumber (who seems to do good work) has declined to do the next stage of step-daughter's self build even though he would have the whole site to himself. You would think that he would have been glad of the work!
