Corrigendum to Amendment 1 now on IET website

I don't think this has been mentioned already.

JW has a video summarising the changes. I seem to recall a discussion on here about the formula that has now been corrected.

  • I do like JWs mild-mannered delivery, it makes his snipes all the more forceful! I am currently making my way through the new Irish electrical installation standard which is a mighty tome of 764 pages. I have found many errors which will no doubt be corrected in due course, so BS7671 is not alone in that regard. However, it is one big pain in the you know what to have shelled out a considerable sum for a document only to find that loose amendments and errata  sheets have to be separately referred to.

i am of a mind that there is far too much unnecessary information in these standards. I would prefer a document with a more general approach As to requirements with guidance on compliance given separately, bit like the Building Regulations.
  • I do wonder if they`ll ever get it right first time.

Do we get refunds for faulty goods?
  • I understand that it is possible to buy a printable version of the corrigendum if you navigate to the “IET Academy” part of the site at  https://academy.theiet.org/bs-7671-2018-a1-2020-corrigendum-may-2020, for the sum of £5.

    Regards,

I agree he is quite watchable, although sometimes a bit too dismissive of things he doesn't understand or has no knowledge of / interest in.

I included the video because I thought it gave a reasonably concise visual summary of the changes. Everyone can make their own mind up whether they are relevant or of interest to themselves, or not.
