Conductor repair

I have come across an socket outlet which has had the insulation on a neutral wire repaired with heat shrink, it looks like the socket screw has damaged it previously.
Would this be an acceptable repair?

  • Ah, but this is where the wording of the reg gets interesting .... you need a key or tool to access the inside of the meter box - so it could be argued that the whole meter box meets the requirements of an electrical enclosure - so lack of proper additional insulation/sheaths/enclosure within the meter box is no more a departure than having exposed terminals within a joint box.

(the suitability of whatever's under the tape notwithstanding of course)
