Two earth paths?

  • came across a house split into 2 flats.two seperate cutouts/meters. The earthing was running from one cutout, to the earthing block (1st flat )then to the gas pipe(10mm). Then from that gas pipe to the 2nd flat earthing block. But earthing also coming from that 2nd cutout to the 2nd board earthing block. Is that a problem

  • Both installations need a means of earthing and if the gas pipe is common to both installations then it needs to be bonded by both installations (or at one common point if both installations are supplied from a single common point) - so what you describe sounds to be correct.
