Projector Lamp. Lamp holder.

Hello All,

I am repairing some old disco lights that use tungsten halogen projector lamps. The rating is 24 Volt 250 Watt.  A1/259 GX5.3 type. I can obtain new lamp holders for these where the originals have burnt out but they are rated at just 100 Watt only. Where can I obtain 250 Watt rated lamp holders please? Some lamp holders offered on fleabay are described as being 250 Watt but upon close inspection they are stamped 100 Watt.

Thanks,

Z.

  • The only bulb data I can find here suggests very short lifetime (50 hrs) for these sort of  higher wattage bulbs. I presume they are under-run if they are being pulsed in time to the music or whatever.

I understand  the modern way is to flash high powered LEDs  instead..
