Hello, should a lamp without a diffuser outside of zones 0-2 in a bathroom be classed as C2 or C3 on an EICR?

Thanks,

John

  • Agree, some people prefer an enclosed fitting in a bathroom, but nothing prohibits use of a batten fitting with a GLS lamp or low energy alternative.

Such fittings used to require, and AFAIK still require to be fitted with a "home office skirt" this to prevent easy contact with the metal lamp cap.

The light pictured is so equiped.

BTW, the requirement for a "home office skirt" was one of the few electrical regulations introduced by HM government, and not by the then IEE.

These people probably think that a home office skirt is an item of clothing required by ladies working from home !
