Hello, should a lamp without a diffuser outside of zones 0-2 in a bathroom be classed as C2 or C3 on an EICR?

Thanks,

John

  • Out of zones, the assumption is it will  not be splashed, so really no code, C3 if you must - yes its a bit rough, but it is not breaking any regs in BS7671.

    If  it was in

Z2 then IP 44 or better - occasional splash proof

Z1 i.e shower spray proof  either ELV of some kind or sealed to IP65 perhaps, i.e shower spray proof

Z 0 in the bath immersion proof.

I'm sure someone went out with a home office skirt once but I cant recall how the joke ended.
