More over complicated modern unnecessary stuff. Why the 'ek would you want to control your heating by telephone. Just chuck a log on the fire when you get home.
A timeswitch works well enough for me, but fairly obviously if your working hours are not regular, you may want to be able to switch on say when you leave the office.
Chucking a log on the fire works only if somebody has lit it in advance. ?
In answer to the OP, I have no experience of these systems, but using the customer's 'phone seems to be a very sensible idea.

It is good to return to a cool home rather than a hot house as.
1. You have saved energy.
2. You have saved money.
3. You will appreciate the smaller temperature rise more when the heating is actually turned on.
4. You have reduced emissions.
5. You will help to save the planet.
6. Eventually you will rise to Heaven, but not due to hypothermia.
Laying your old scrunched up fish and chip newspaper wrappings in the fire grate, with dry kindling above, needs only a match to get it going before you chuck on the log.
