2391

I have a 2391 course booked for 10 candidates due to commence 12th January 2021. We run the 2391 over six consecutive weeks with one day per week and homework in between. Unfortunately, due to the rise in C19, the course has had to be cancelled. Several candidates require the qualification urgently and I would like to help them. While the course remains postponed, I think in would be beneficial if I could provide the guys with some kind of distance learning programme. At least that way they would be engaged and on track for a positive outcome when the course resumes. In the interest of the candidates I am prepared to do this for free. I was thinking that there is quite a good selection of bite-sized clips on YouTube on which I could structure something for them. Those along with reference to GN3 and some set questions might be useful preparation. If you have seen any material that might be useful to the guys, I would appreciate it if you would point me to it.
  • Lyle, please send a PM to me with a phone number, we can then discuss further
  • I didn`t realise that the 2391 was still running.

I thought that it was split into two easier parts with another name.

Lyle, have you considered making your own you tube course - a bit in the way of those John Ward videos ? Just a thought
  • Can't you still run it as a paid for face to face online course via Zoom or the like?
  • Best delete that number else you will be spambotted.

2391 has been resurrected. I suspect that 2394 and 2395 were too complicated to administer. Search the City and Guilds course database for more info, here,

Too bloody complicated to sit. C&G used to publish a wee book entitled, "Exam success. Inspection and testing 2394 and 2395." I had one of the last copies! Problem was that it didn't exactly prepare one for the practical.

I suspect that part of the rationale for 2391 was to remove the duplication. The practical test was very similar for both except that in 2395 a couple of anomalies were added.

Thank you Leigh, I appreciate that. As for Ebee’s suggestion to make a YouTube vid, well I did try it once but having that camera stare coldly left me stuttering and running way off track. Fair play to all those YouTube pilots, it’s a tad harder to do than one might think. I prefer the comfort of my own classroom with my two large whiteboards and equally large screen where it doesn’t take long to establish an easy rapport with the guys in front of me!
