  • Panel builders! I have to change that top single phase breaker for a three phase unit. The whole assembly has to come out as the busbars are at the back of the panel the mccbs are fixed to!
  • By the way, the awful wiring has nowt to do with me!!

    So not only did they stick a multi kVA UPS in what was basically a small broom cupboard, they stuffed the remaining gaps with fluffy insulation ... and guess what? it overheated. I can't say I'm either surprised or sympathetic.

    Agreed. But were the missing bus-bar nuts the cause of over heating inside the U.P.S. itself?

    Information seems incomplete on that point - his electrician seemed to think that if they had been missing originally the thing would never have worked at all.


    It seemed that the manufacturer had been on site to investigate - so I suspect it was dismantled after the event and not quite all put back together before the video was made.
