Lamp Holder Adapter.

Mornin' All,

An appliance has this description in its sale's literature.......

"Each model is sent out wired complete with connector, two yards of flexible cord, and cocus wood lamp holder adapter, ready for immediate use."

What is a cocus wood lamp holder adapter?

  • Back in the good old days, most customers would know what voltage they had, primarily needed when buying replacement lamps.

Within living memory, incandescent lamps came in DOZENS of different voltages. 100 volts to 130 volts in five volt steps, 200 to 260 volts in ten volt steps, together with 12 volts, 25 volts, 32 volts, 50 volts, 70 volts and others. Often in clear or pearl and in a choice of wattages.

A few odd voltages are still available but becoming rare.
