Could an unfused R.C.D. protected spur, from a complient ring final circuit, supplying a single outdoor socket via 1.5mm2 6242Y cable of max. length 300mm through a brick wall from an indoor socket outlet be considered compliant?
Thanks, Andy! The only version of 60898 I'd found was an IS/IEC, i.e. Indian standard, from 2002, with appendices just A-L. I don't have the BS-EN. So I see it's more detailed in another version. Still, this Energy limiting class 1 looks like the old-style lack of requirement.
The BEAMA "Guide to Low Voltage Circuit-Breakers Standards" June 2015 document reproduces some of the BS EN 60898 let through class values; they appear to be the same as the values Andy posted for type B class 3, but have slightly lower value let-throughs now for type C class 3: 3/4.5/6/10 kA Icn has breaking capacity of 17/28/40/80 kA for <= 16A and 20/37/52/100 for 20-32A.
