Do any suppliers pay FITs for new installations?
I can see from their website that SSE have discontinued the scheme, although will continue to pay FITs to those who signed up earlier.
Thanks
Clive

Without going into the nitty gritty I suppose you could directly feed the immersion heater with your 1.5Kw worth of solar and it would heat up more slowly than on the mains if that would be adequate. That way you`d avoid buying another 1.5Kw worth from the grid
Hi Chris. I do not need to import from grid for immersion unless I command the bypass function directly or via a timed schedule. Load is fed by the Eddi diverter which adapts the feed to the immersion load according to the load resistance and power surplus power available. So a 3kW element will take 12Amp from a 250AC RMS supply. The resistive heating element is therefore about 21ohms. If there's only 1kW surplus available Eddi will adapt the sine wave AC output to ensure the 1kW surplus feeds the 21ohms with the required AC sine wave voltage (about 150V AC RMS) to dissipate the 1kW. Hence it uses the term varisine technology. This all happens automatically without any need to manually intervene.
Picture is worth more than words hence screenshot below. No grid import and water heated with surplus.
