    The earth terminal on the driver may be required for a number of reasons, that may include any (or all) of the following:

    • Enable the driver to meet EMC requirements
    • Provide earthing for components that don't meet double or reinforced insulation thickness, or creepage/clearance distances
    • Discharge static
    • Permit internal SPDs to function (if fitted)
