Walking out to fix a problem on a solar panel in the middle is going to need some serious nerves, I have enough problem with vertical ladders.
I hope the wind loading sums are correct. Mind you, at least they are tackling the energy question head on, we'd never have the nerve for an experiment like that.

Indeed the Chinese are tackling the energy question by building more and more coal-fired generators and ignoring the ‘climate crisis ’ what do they know???
well, the thing is they are doing something - they are the biggest installers of renewables as well as the biggest coal burner, but the latter is a large but declining share of their new installations .
renewables approach a terawatt (and 4% of that, about 36GW of it was installed last year )
But they are building coal plants too (adding 38Gw new in 2020 bringing total coal generation capacity, to more like 1080 GW)
We on the other hand seem happy to live in museum grade housing stock and run kit where the folk who designed it have retired, and whinge about everyone else for not doing anything about it. We can't even fund an experimental tidal lagoon that has a very good chance of working.

Indeed it's a real mess, thanks to the politicians and pseudo scientists.

PS you can't run and economy on tidal, wind and solar subsidised farming. Makes people poorer.
