I'm planning to batten the interior of the garden room I'm building and line it with 6mm WBP plywood with the cables in the void behind.
Can I fit flush mounting mains sockets to the plywood or does this contravene a fire safety regulation?

Good point. It would certainly be cheaper and a lot quicker. Not so neat but I can probably live with that.
Mini-trunking would look neater than clipped direct.
If you go down the surface route this might be of interest. I just completed a job where I used some PVC skirting trunking https://www.dietzel-univolt.com/products/Produktdetailseite?masterartikel=036054
Thought it looked quiet neat.

Nice, but doesn't leave much room below the sockets for leads attached to plugs, or for those odd shaped transformer plugs. If it were above a worktop there would be a minimum height for the socket outlet, 150mm from memory of the guidance. And if a new build it would be 350mm above the floor from building regulations, for limited ability access. But that would be a mahoosive skirting :)
It’s OK for moulded plugs. Agreed transformers could be an issue. Not sure if part M applies to garden rooms/sheds.
