When will the new regulations become into effect for work carried out, and if a installation has already been designed but no work carried out will that design have to be updated?
In some cases that will depend on contact agreement, when it states either a fixed version or ' the latest'.
Where not then I suggest the advice here is the right starting point.
"Amendment 2 comes into effect immediately when published on 28th March 2022 and the previous version, BS 7671:2018+A1:2020, will be withdrawn six months later."
So unless fixed by some other legal clause, there is a 6 month period to finish things started or pre-agreed, and then it becomes compulsory for new stuff if you need to to claim it meets the current regs, but you can start to use the new one yesterday, if you wish.
During the cross-over, both remain 'current standards' until the old one is quietly withdrawn during the summer hols..
