Heated Towel Rail Reliability.

How reliable are Terma electrically heated towel rails. I have a customer that has a failed heating element/thermostat unit. The new part cost will be about £90.00. Has anyone else had any experiences with these models. The model my customer has is a Terma Alex One. It is about two years old from new. The old Dimplex oil filled towel rails lasted for much longer than two years.

  • i would be checking bank statements first, then emails of around the time the money went out. failing that, perhaps an email to Terma with the serial number to confirm warranty status and ask if they will handle it directly

  • Indeed. I have advised my customer on this matter. Let's hope that they can find the necessary info.

  • £90 seems very excessive for such an item - a whole new radiator unit can be had for similar.

  • The new cost of my customer's model was nearer £300.00 W.H.J. It is very tall. Here is a picture of a SIMILAR new replacement element and control head.
