Notified of this repair, is there a hazard with EVC's ?. Message - "I just need a cable replacement fitted to an existing tethered box having damaged the original."
I can envisage a potential problem.

Possibly - although perhaps covered by some provisions of the product standard for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), BS EN 61851 series - with a tethered cable, would have to be a Mode 3 or Mode 4 charging point, and these should be prevented from closing live conductor contacts unless the pilot 'communication' has been established with the vehicle. If you damage the cable, and don't plug in the vehicle / initiate a charging session, the risk ought to be minimized?
