Blanking Plate Challenge.

I had to fit a double blanking plate today over an old metal box. The socket was like this with four securing screws. I imagined that I would have to drill at least two if not four holes accurately in the new blanking plate but>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the answer presented itself. How?

  • Using the existing two holes in the blanking plate as guides you drilled and tapped the back box and secured it with longer screws.

  • Drill holes in the back of the box into the brickwork, pop in a couple of rawlplugs, and use wood screws.

  • Woodscrews?! Oh no Chris, one simply cannot use woodscrews in an accessory. Deary me, no.

  • No. 6 brass raised head would do just fine.
